Update Nordic Tour Demo Yacht Independence
At this moment, our demo yacht “Independence” is making a special trip through Northern Europe: the Nordic Tour 2024. This tour aims to introduce the maritime industry to the latest developments at WhisperPower. During the various stopovers, dealers come on board to experience our power systems in practice. Before departure, a video was made in which founder Roel ter Heide and CEO Johannes Doornbosch talk about WhisperPower, the purpose of the Nordic Tour, product innovations and sustainable ambitions. Departure
The Independence left on 5 June from Harlingen, Netherlands, to the beautiful Wadden Sea island of Terschelling. Then the yacht set course for Germany. Via Borkum and Cuxhaven, the demo boat arrived in Eckernförde, where WhisperPower Germany is located.
NORAD A/S Exclusive Distributor in Denmark
After Germany, the ‘Independence’ sailed to Denmark, docking in Dragør and spending a few days in the beautiful capital, Copenhagen. In Dragør, a meeting was held with Norad A/S, the new exclusive distributor for WhisperPower in Denmark. In addition to the marine and mobile markets, Norad A/S also covers the defense market. The distributor was already successful with the OctoPower integrated power supply solutions. These systems can be monitored and managed remotely thanks to WhisperCare.
Sweden and Norway
The tour continued to Sweden, with stops in Träslövsläge, Marstrand, and the Koster Islands. On the return trip, there will be more meetings and extensive demonstrations in Sweden. The ‘Independence’ has now arrived in Norway, with the first stop in Fredrikstad. The Norwegian market, especially the fishing sector, is of great importance to WhisperPower. One of the visitors on board was Univa A/S, a dealer/distributor of prominent European brands such as Vetus, Steyr Motors, and Alamarin. They are now taking on WhisperPower for their commercial maritime and recreational customers.
Onboard Power System Demonstrations
Besides distributors and dealers, it is the ideal opportunity for potential customers to discover the unprecedented possibilities of the power systems and components in practice. For example, specialists from Nor-Dan AS came on board in the marina of Spangereid. Nor-Dan Marine AS builds high-quality fishing boats with a maximum length of 10.99 meters, known as Nord-Dan Sjark. As the crew stays on board these boats for extended periods, the size of the power installation and noise level are of great importance. The specialists were pleasantly surprised by the excellent performance and capabilities that WhisperPower offers!
