WhisperPower, a leading global manufacturer of zero- and low-emission power systems for marine, mobile and off-grid markets, has obtained a large order from Saab AB, business unit Training & Simulation, Sweden. They signed a framework agreement for the supply of 30 low-emission power systems to operate Combat Training Centres in the field.
One container serves 10,000 participants
The Saab Combat Training Centre (CTC), which monitors every step and action in military training sessions is the heart of the training solutions. The CTC’s are available as a mobile container, which can be deployed at the point of need or as a fixed solution to be placed at a stationary location. It supports up to 10,000 participants and has an area coverage of up to 40*40 km.
The uniqueness of this power supply solution is the customisation WhisperPower achieved in close operation with Saab engineers. In the next three years WhisperPower will manufacture and deliver 30 power systems to Saab, to enable a training-ready environment with a minimum carbon footprint.
Safe and economical
The WhisperPower solution is based on a Lithium battery pack as heart of the CTC system. The W-SQ Pro 15 generator only starts when necessary to recharge the batteries again. Two Supreme Pro battery chargers ensure proper and safe charging of the Lithium batteries.
24 V battery power is utilized by the WhisperPower AC PowerCube 4 KVA Inverter which provides 230 V / 50 Hz single phase, or dual phase 2 x 120 V / 60 Hz for the systems to be used by also the US Dod (American defence). The operators constantly monitor all CTC’s, operational in the field through the WhisperCare monitoring system.
Environmentally friendly and cost saving
Saab, a world leading provider of land forces training solutions, has chosen the environmentally friendly solution developed by WhisperPower which replaces the traditional generator by smart lithium batteries/inverter system, combined with a small super silent WhisperPower generator.
Apart from the drastically improved ecological footprint, is the saving in cost of fuel (and fuel supply) and the of engine running time more than 70%. In terms of operational cost saving, the return on investment is calculated to be in less than three years.
Quick installation
The W-SQ Pro 15 generator will be built on a fuel tank, with radiator and exhaust system. Together with the lithium battery pack and complete DC distribution the whole power system will be delivered pre-installed as one. This enables a quick and proper installation of the power system.
