The company serves as an important link between WhisperPower and these prestigious boatbuilders by bridging the technical support gap needed between equipment supplier and OEM manufacturer.
MES and its sister company All Boats Services have been B2B distributors and installers of technical equipment and integrated systems to the commercial marine and mobile markets for over three decades.
Main power system supplier to Princess Yachts
The intensive cooperation with Plymouth-based MES is how WhisperPower became the main supplier of energy systems to Princess Yachts of diesel generators from 5 – 22 kVA. Two types of generator technologies are being applied. The classic fixed RPM sets operate on 1500/1800 rpm. The all-water cooled ultra-compact adjustable speed models are also installed in TWIN parallel use, enabling a low energy (economy mode) when one generator is running and a high power load, with two units operating in parallel.
The application of WhisperPower’s Genverter adjustable speed technology was new to Princess and very well received. The same can be said of the installation of hybrid-based comfort systems that allow silent zero-emission operating periods. The WhisperPower OctoPower systems, the name for these powerful lithium battery-based systems, are industry-leading when it comes to superior onboard green power management.
Amazingly efficient
Paul Bailey, an experienced yacht expert who has worked many years for Princess Yachts, was very impressed with the OctoPower system installed into one of the first X-80 yachts.

Pre-fab approach
WhisperPower excels in the role of a total solutions provider. From the beginning of the project where the specifications are defined to production of components, from assembly and joining of components into a system to the installation of all parts into a system, everything is in one hand. A thorough pre-commissioning of the system is carried out prior to delivery to the boatbuilder. The concluding step is the final test run at the yard, with WhisperPower staff in attendance.
The OctoPower 25 system installed in a Princess X-80 built for an internatonal client consists of the following components:
- 110 kWh Lithium Power Plus (LFP) battery bank, 48 VDC, complete with DC distribution and DC fuses to ensure safe operation.
- 30 kVA 3 phase 60 Hz inverter/charger system to operate AC loads during silent time and charge batteries when running generator.
- WhisperCare monitoring and control bus integrated with Boning power system control system.
