Sustainable and Reliable Energy Supply for Mobile Bank Offices

The Spanish financial institution Cajamar presented two new vehicles in the summer of 2024 that have been specially adapted to serve as mobile bank offices. The trucks have been added to the rural banking service program and will operate in the Valencia region. A reliable electricity supply is essential to facilitate both employees and clients. The installed WhisperPower power system not only provides energy for all necessary banking equipment but also powers the climate control and lighting in the mobile offices.

Versatile Power Solution Tailored to Specific Needs

At the start of the project, Cajamar sought an energy supply that met their requirements for reliability, comfort and sustainability. The system needed to provide power for banking equipment such as computers, printers and ATMs. It was essential that the energy system functioned non-stop to serve as a UPS backup and prevent interruptions in network connections. Electricity was also needed for lighting, air conditioning or heating to create a user-friendly space for employees and clients. This made visits especially more pleasant for the predominantly older target group. A system without a continuously running generator was an excellent fit and aligned with Cajamar’s vision of sustainable business and environmental friendliness. Based on this philosophy, an efficient and clean energy solution was an explicit requirement.

Hybrid System with 2 Lithium Battery Racks

Cajamar chose WhisperPower for the ability to provide a complete solution under one brand, with extensive support during the project and after-sales service. The OctoPower 7 + forms the basis of the design, which has been further tailored with precision and customization to meet all requirements. The system offers a continuous power of 7 kVA (230 VAC, 50 Hz) with a peak power of up to 14 kVA. Two lithium battery racks ensure safe energy storage and save space without requiring additional ventilation or cooling. This specific integration of battery modules within a casing increases lifespan, reliability and ensures even energy output.

Charging via Generator, Solar Panels, Grid and Vehicle Engine

The system offers flexible charging options: the quiet Stage V diesel generator, charging via the grid, solar panels mounted on the vehicles and the truck engine while driving. This makes the OctoPower 7 + not only environmentally friendly but also highly efficient and versatile for use in mobile applications. Sustainability played an important role in the choice of the OctoPower system. Unlike a continuously running generator, this hybrid solution minimizes emissions and noise pollution, thanks in part to the support of solar panels. This allows the system to operate off-grid with only 2 to 4 hours of generator use per day. The remaining energy is supplied by the battery bank and solar panels.

Fleet Management Enabled by Smart Software

For the delivery of vehicles, management, maintenance, cleaning and transport, Cajamar has signed an agreement with the transport company ALSA. Each power system is equipped with our smart WhisperCare software, accessible anytime and anywhere via the user-friendly cloud platform. This offers extensive possibilities for fleet management, such as remote support by service technicians. WhisperCare provides real-time insights and historical data. In addition to remote control, many smart functions can be configured, such as automatic generator start-stop and maintenance and error notifications. A smartphone, tablet or computer with a browser and internet connection is all that is needed for access.

Sustainable Efficient Automotive Solutions

This new generation of traveling offices marks a significant advancement in Cajamar’s rural banking services. Thanks to innovations in mobility and energy consumption, an important step toward a more sustainable future has been taken. The efficient combination of lithium batteries, inverters and solar panels makes these mobile units not only environmentally friendly but also suitable for the needs of modern banking services.
