The Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the global authority on motorsports events, strives to make its events not only exciting but also sustainable. In their ongoing quest for innovation and sustainability, they asked Continuous Events to develop hospitality trailers. Continuous Events asked WhisperPower to provide a renewable energy solution. These trailers are essential for providing first-class facilities to Ryder, VIPs, press and the organizing team during: MotoGP, Enduro GP, MXON, Motorcross, Inauguration new HQ, ISDE and FIM intercontinental games.
The challenge
The challenge was to create a reliable, sustainable power supply for FIM’s mobile trailers, which are often placed in remote locations without (full) access to the power grid. The solution had to be both environmentally friendly and efficient, to meet FIM’s strict sustainability criteria.
Solution
WhisperPower, in partnership with Continuous Events, has developed a custom hybrid power system consisting of Supreme Pro battery chargers, an extended battery bank, AC PowerCube and various additional products. This system provides an independent, reliable and clean power supply for the mobile trailers.
The solution provided makes it possible to power the trailers in locations without power supply or where it is only partially available. This results in a stable and reliable power source, crucial for event continuity and quality.
Results
The new FIM Hospitality trailers, designed and built in the Netherlands by Continuous Events, represent the cutting edge of flexible, mobile facilities. They include many sustainable and inclusive features, such as solar panels, electric motorcycle charging points and wheelchair access. The trailers have a dual-module layout with a connecting bridge and house the FIM president’s office, a steward’s office, a 15-person meeting room, a staff office, a 28-person dining area and a kitchen with full food waste management. They are also equipped with air conditioning and a rooftop terrace for views.
Conclusion
The collaboration between WhisperPower, Continuous Events and FIM illustrates a successful step toward more sustainable motorsports events. The project has demonstrated that with innovative technology and collaboration, the motorsport industry can contribute to a greener future without compromising the quality and experience of the events. This initiative not only sets a new standard for mobile energy solutions in the sports industry, but also demonstrates the potential for broad application in other sectors striving for sustainability and innovation.
