By using the transformer, power consumption difference on each phase is balanced to provide maximum power for each voltage outlet. The autotransformer may be also connected in a configuration to generate 240 V or balanced split-phase from a 120 VAC input voltage.
Autotransformer 120/240 VAC – 32 A
The WhisperPower Autotransformer is used when a split-phase (single phase three wire) system or a single outlet different to the generator or inverter outletvoltage is required. In this way a nominal output of 240 VAC may be converted to split-phase dual 120 V or single 120 V / 60 Hz as used in USA and Canada.
